On the move. That's been the story for Dave Clarke, who
has landed in Edmonton, Alberta, after five years on Vancouver Island.
Dave bade farewell to the West Coast and his bandmates in
Shearwater Bluegrass last spring. Now relocated in a downtown district
in Alberta's capital city, Dave is getting set to make his debut on the
Edmonton music scene this winter.
It's a logical fit in many ways. The Edmonton Folk Music
Festival is the largest and most illustrious such event on the
continent, bringing the best and brightest in roots and acoustic music
to the festival in the North Saskatchewan River Valley every August.
Since his move in mid-2011, Dave has been woodshedding
some new compositions for an upcoming solo guitar album, his second such
effort. He's also continuing some work on an upcoming project with his
old Shearwater bandmate, James Whittall, one of the most exciting young
bluegrass mandolinists in Canada.
Look for more news on Dave's new album later this year;
meanwhile, find out more on Dave's two previous solo CDS:
Reunion (2007) and
Guitar Songs (2002).
